I got tired of Windows Media Player 10. It eats almost half of my RAM just to start. Second, I do not how or if it is possible at all to add subtitles to movies. I need some light weight, free and good media player for everyday movi watching. Can you recommend me few multimedia players?

There are lot of good, free multimedia players out there. From those well known like VCL or MV2 player through discontinued but still god ones like RAD Light to more exotic applications like GOM player (which is my personal favorite). It is free, lightweight, easy to use and has tons of options. You can always try Windows port of best Linux multimedia player mPlayer. Although I have not experience with Windows port I can say that it is one of the best if it works like on Linux.
