Hello, I am planning to buy a DVD writer. So far, I used to work with my Sony DVD rom. Now, there are so many brands. And off course, it is always hard to make a decision. Which brand to pick up? I have heard for a lot of them, but which one? Sony, Nec, Samsung, Toshiba, LG, Asus? Post your opinions folks.

Well, the best of all, a long time a go, was Plextor. No doubt. The people from the Plextor factory, really knew how to make a monster of a reader (if reads good, than it also writes good, dont forget this), but as years passed, concurrence was making a progress. So you can say that every brand does its job very well today, and I understand your question mark. But, if you need help, than here it is. I think that LG is the leader right now. 2 years of warranty. Perfect control of spin. Extremely well calibrated for all type of media. Really warm recommendation. Sometimes I even think that my LG DVD-RAM drive can read a vinyl . I mean, I have no suspicion at all. Good work, LG. Thats all I have to say.
