I have bought Voip phone and I would like to give it bandwidth priority when it is in use. That said I would like all other applications to suspend or lower their activities over internet when VoiP phone is in use. I have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and a Lynksys router over which I am connected to a cable modem. Is there any way to accomplish this?

I do not know if that can be done in Windows or with some application but you can do it with router. All you have to do is to forward port which this application or device uses and it will automatically get priority when it makes a network request. I think that this is what you were asking for.
