I need some help with my motherboard drivers update. I downloaded the update from the Internet. The file was compressed in ZIP format. I have Microsoft Windows XP installed on my computer for a long time and everything works fine until now. However, when I try to open downloaded file and install it I get an error message and my XP reports bad sectors on HDD problem on every boot. I do not know what is wrong. Can anybody help me?

There are several reasons that could cause problem like yours. First, it could be an error in the process of downloading and your ZIP file might be damaged. You could try to download it one more time and than try to open it again. Second, you might not have a proper version of operating system installed on your computer. Your version of driver update could be for some other operating system like Windows 98. In that case, you have to find and download a proper version for your operating system. Third reason for your problem could be that your driver update may need some service pack or add-ons. If that is your problem, you need to find out what are those things, download and install them.
