I updated Winamp recently and now I can’t get it to play any kind of audio file. I keep on getting this message:" Bad DirectSound Driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration.error code: 8878000A". What have I done wrong? Thanks in advance!

This is a fairly common problem. You don’t need to update your sound card drivers but instead you should select the proper device in WinAmp’s configuration just like the second part of the message says. Click on the ‘options’ dropdown menu in Win Amp and there select the ‘preferences’. Here, click ‘output’ , select ‘direct sound output’ and click ‘configure’ button. Under the ‘device’ tab you should select your audio card instead of default ‘primary sound driver’ and it should be alright. I hope this helped.
