| Whats the best tool for backing up my files? All of my files are on the C partition, dont have anything on D. Size is approximately 320 Gb, and most of the files are movies. Should I wait for the Blue Ray drive? Or should I just burn everything on DVDs? I dont have any special requirements, just want to get rid of it. By the way, movies on the C drive are original, not downloaded. Thanks! |

| I suppose that easiest way is just to burn it. In that case you would get 100 DVD. Your cost would be about 30$, which is not so bad. But on the other hand, its much easier to buy an External drive and to copy files. You can choose one of those metal case drives, their price is approximately 200$, which is not much. Or, you can wait for the Blue Ray technology, I mean, why wait, its already here. You need a burner and about 10 empty medias. Total cost 500$. Not so bad, but 500 buck is too much. Or, you want to use good old cds. 320 Gb500 cds70$. My suggestion to you is to use external drive, because its the smallest one, its cheap, and its safe. Its size is only 2.5 inches so you can carry it around all the time. If you are a total geek, upload all your files on the internet, and you can use them form anywhere. Total cost, 200$, and size, 0 inches. But then, you would have to pay 200$ every year. Think about it. |
