I am considering backing up my data to CD-R media. I have CD RW drive and a lot blank CDs ready for this. I have heard that some problems can occur with this kind of backing up data so I am not sure if this is a right thing to do. I would like you to give some advice about this question?

Backing up data on CD media is not the best solution but it is the most practical one for home users. I have to warn you that process of backing up will take a long time if you have lot data and to compress files if you have many small files you want to burn. Also, do not forget that data can be stored on CD between two and five years depending on media quality and handling.
