I have AMI BIOS and I have tried to update it. My system worked just fine, but Ihave heard that is good sometimes update it BIOS. I have found on the internet BIOS update software and I have downloaded it, but somehow my BIOS will not update. My friend told me that I should go to the motherboard manufacturer web site for flash software for BIOS and because I didnt do that I have problem. Cannot be true right?

No! First: You should not update BIOS if your system works perfectly. BIOS update is recommended only when your system after some, for example, hardware installation, have a problem. I mean, when BIOS cannot recognize that hardware. Second: your friend is right regarding the fact that you should find flash update for your BIOS on motherboard manufacturer official web site. Other sources on the internet are not reliable and you will probably have problems if you use them.
