Audio problem with Xbox 360 VGA Cable

I'm trying to connect the Xbox to a PC monitor and external audio system using a standard VGA cable appliance but it turns out it's not as "standard" as I'd imagines. The jack looks like it's "male" on both ends, the one coming out of the box and the one out of the adapter, and I can't figure out how to connect them! Anybody?

Just buy a "bridge" connection cable, I think they call it a "gender changer" (quite surreptitiously if you ask me).
