| Hi there. I am about to write some article about several different cores at my own choice for the exam, and I am not so experienced with the matter it self, so I have picked up old Athlon XP and all of its versions. Is there any good soul willing to help me a little bit with this? I will appreciate any help very, very much. Thanks. |

| Hello kiddo. I will try to be as helpful as I can. There are three different versions of the Athlon XP core. Thunderbird, Palomino and the Thoroughbred. Thunderbird is the oldest, and because of the size of the core its self, the biggest physical size it has more heat dissipation, than goes the Palomino with the more less, and T-Brad as the most cooler product. The core it self has about 37.5 million transistors inside that little surface, comparing to Intel Celeron which has around 55 million. Oh, and Athlon models with 2700+ and 2800+ signs have 333 mhz system bus, while other models operate on 266 mhz. |
