Yesterday I had some trouble with my PC – it kept on shutting down spontaneously. A friend of mine had similar problems and it turned out it was caused by the heat. Anyway, I decided to turn it off and leave it that way until the morning. Unfortunately, when I tried to turn it on today, I got a ‘Bad BIOS Checksum’ message. What does this mean and how can I fix it.
Have you tried booting the system from a floppy? You’ll have to create a system disc if you haven’t got one already, by using another PC. Anyway, this kind of problem may even be caused by bad RAM so you should check that too. And of course, you might try contacting ASUS but I think their support via phone isn’t cheap at all.
