I got this Asus P4C800 deluxe motherboard but I can’t make it work. All the other components I have are older and used to work fine with my previous motherboard but since I got this one, I can’t boot at all. I got this motherboard so that I can attach another hard disk because my old one can’t register any hd over 40 Gb. My old hard drive has Win XP on it but when I connect everything and try to boot, I get a message saying that I need to select the proper boot device. What’s that all about?

It seems to me that you don’t know enough about computers to do such a thing as install everything on your own. It’s possible that the boot sequence isn’t set the proper way and your BIOS is trying to boot either from floppy or cd. You have to change this setting in BIOS and it should help you. But if it doesn’t write again and say what happened.
