Hello. I have noticed that my ASUS DVD-RW Drive is detected as a HL-DT-ST which is very equal to LG DVD burner. Never mind that, it is ok for me. I have heard that LG has got the best technology, but the thing that bothers me is, why do I see messages about incorrect blank CD space every time I try to burn some CD or DVD? Nero reports me that I have only 7 mb of free space on a blank CD before burning, but no matter that, it does works. Is this a problem with my drive or there is something else I should know? Thanks.

Hello. I think that your drive is not fault but the CDs or DVDs you are using. The exact thing happens to me occasionally with erased CD-RW disc, when I try to use it again, but it burns over it anyway and everything is readable. You can solve your problem by flashing the drive, or to make things precise, by changing its firmware. ASUS bought LG and you have upgraded it. Not so bad, right? Wink
