I need some help with my MoBo driver update. My MoBo could not properly see my new HDD so I downloaded the latest updated driver from the Internet. However, when I try to install downloaded file I get an error message and my computer restarts. To be even worse, now I have annoying sound card noise. Could it be damaged?

I do not think that your sound is physically damaged. There are other possible reasons for your problem. The most possible would be an error in the process of downloading. That way your driver file might be damaged. To check that, you should try to download it once again and than try to reinstall it. You may also have a wrong version of driver for your operating system. Your version of drivers could be for some other operating system like 2000 and you probably have a XP. In that case, you have to find and download the proper version for your operating system. Last reason for your problem could be that your driver update may need some service pack or add-ons. If that is the problem, download and install them first.
