I am going to vacation next month and I will be visiting some very nice places. My old Super8 camera finally died so I think it is time for some miniDV camera. It should be as cheap as possible, but with at least descent abilities of night shooting. And I prefer Sony – every camera of mine was Sony so far.

Well I think you should spend as much money as you can, because every time when you cut down the expense there is some feature you will miss. Personally, I am very satisfied with my Sony DCRHC40, I got it on Amazon. It seems like there is a new model, Sony DCR-HC42 but it seems that it is not so good as the former one.
