Well, I've never done this, so it's advanced to me, even though it may be a piece of cake for you. Anyway, here's the deal: I have this old HDD that I want to keep partitioned as it is (doesn't matter why). I've got Win XP installed on it, but some of the partitions (that were hidden before) are still in the FAT32 format. Can I format these partitions so that I turn them into NTFS, like the primary one is? Would there be a risk of data or space loss? Thanks for any help.

Here's how you do it: What you want to do first is de-fragment your whole HDD, all partitions. Then, you go to the command prompt (Start - > Run - > type "cmd"). Here you need to find out the name and serial number of the disk partition you're after, so assuming it's drive F, enter "vol F". Write down the results. Now, enter "Convert F:/FS:NTFS" Enter the values that you've got written down when it prompts you, and let it work.
