I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 and I would like to make a transparent background for m picture. Honestly, I am not very good with this software and I do not have a clue how to accomplish this. Can you help me with some advice how to make transparent background in Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0?

Check if layer that you are working with is locked. If it is locked then duplicate it and delete locked layer. Use the lasso tool to select everything you want to keep on picture. When you finish this, click Select Inverse. This selects everything you want to delete. Set your background layer to white and hit delete key. On the picture will be left only things you want to keep with transparent background.
