I have just bought my first PC and I’m still trying to personalize the appearance of operative system and desktop. I have seen that people have very interesting desktop themes and icons. I don’t know how to adjust the desktop toolbar and add some options. I’ve tried but unsuccessfully. Is it complicated? Is there some instruction manual for Windows XP?

I think that it is not so complicated. I don’t know what exactly you want to customize but if you right-click the toolbar a menu with various options will appear and there you’ll be able to change the settings and customize your toolbar. You can add language bar option, for example, and change the input language, or you can add quick launch bar and have easier access to programs from that menu. There are many other options, and as far as the instructions manual is concerned you can try using Windows XP help or that help tour where all Windows XP performances are presented to new users. Maybe that will help you and make you understand this operative system better.
