Hi! I tried adding drivers for Silicon Image 0680 raid controller to the Windows XP installation CD, cause my floppy drive isn’t working and I don’t want to buy one just for that one driver disk. Unfortunately, something is wrong and I keep on getting this message: File txtsetup.oem caused an unexpected error (1 at line 1742 in d:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c. I read some of the microsoft articles on how to add the drivers and I think I’ve done everything as they said. Any ideas on what I could have done wrong?
I’ve read about a case such as yours and it turned out that the driver that was to be added to XP CD was damaged and that was what caused the problem. I am not sure that it’s the same thing with you but you should definitely check those drivers on someone’s PC with a floppy. What I don’t understand is why you don’t just burn those to a blank CD instead of doing this complicated operation.
