I’m using an anti ad-ware program and I’ve noticed that the registry has been somehow modified. I’m wondering whether I haven’t accidentally adjusted the settings or something. Is it a dangerous situation in the sense that certain ad-ware will contaminate my PC? Ii don’t even know how to recognize ad-ware and I’m afraid that sometimes I won’t notice something malicious.

I advise you to read help menu and see how to adjust the settings so that you can be protected. Those modifications sometimes occur when you allow certain clients to send you something and you allow certain applications. Maybe that’s what happened. And maybe a virus altered the registry and it would be a wise thing to check your PC to viruses. I have always had problems with ad-ware and anti-spy software because I can never tell the difference between dangerous and ordinary ad-ware. Just like you, but ever since I started using Lavasoft Ad-Aware, everything changed. Now my PC is properly protected. I advise you to try it out and you’ll definitely be satisfied.
