This is strange. I have made another partition on hard drive and installed Windows XP on it. When I booted in new Windows installation I was asked to activate this copy of Windows. But then the surprise came. I was unable to complete registration process. I do not know why. This is the same Windows I have installed on first hard drive partition and it activated without problems. What is the problem here? I can not have two installations of same XP, or what?

I do not know the reason behind problems with activating XP on new partition but I can offer you a workaround. Go to /widows/system32 folder of activated Windows XP installation and copy Wpa.bak and Wpa.dbl files to /windows/system32/ folder of fresh Windows XP installation. Reboot computer and log into new Windows. You will be prompted to activate your copy. Start activation process and you will see message saying that activation process has successfully finished
