| I borrowed this Acer laptop from a friend to use for this project I'm working on over the summer (my desktop won't cut it), and it's been acting strangely. It sometimes just freezes mid-session, no response at all, and I have to reboot to get it working again. I've noticed that this never happens when it's on the AC, only when on battery power. It's starting to happen more often, and my friend says he never had any trouble of that sort with it before. Any suggestions? |

| Well, the fact that it appears to be a battery-related issue suggests that it's probably not just overheating. If I had to guess, I'd say that one of the battery connectors is loosened up or something, so that when it loses contact, you lose power and it goes dead. I'd just take it in for repair, it's probably not an expensive intervention. |
