I need some help with my Abit motherboard driver update. My motherboard couldn't properly see my new HDD so I downloaded the latest updated driver from the Internet. I have XP installed on my computer for two years and everything worked fine until now. However, when I try to install downloaded file I get an error message and my computer restarts. To be even worse, now my USB won't work. Does anybody have any experience with Abit motherboard USB issue and new driver update?

There are several possible reasons that might cause your problem. The simplest one would be an error in the process of downloading and your driver file might be damaged. To check that, you should try to download it once more and than try to reinstall it. Alternatively, you might not have a proper version of driver for your operating system. Your version of drivers could be for some other operating system like Windows Vista. In that case, you have to find and download the proper version for your OS. Last reason for your problem could be that your driver update may need some service pack or add-ons. If that is the problem, download and install them first. If nothing helps, then complete reinstall certainly will.
