I got an Acer computer last month. They also installed me an ADSL connection. A friend installed me software for Torrent downloading. He told me that it is great for downloading movies from the net. Everything worked great until yesterday. Now, whenever I connect to Internet my connection is slow. AVG found embedded virus.

From your story, I am certain that you have some sort of virus on your computer. It is probably a virus from category of Downloader or Trojan. Its job is to gain access to hard disk content on your computer to his owner. That is the common problem for all users of Torrents. I had to reinstall my computer few times because of torrent using and viruses. However, at last I found out what is a cure for that. The cure is combination of AVG and Seagate firewall. You have to start AVG from the Safe mode of your Windows to clean the virus from your computer. After that, install Seagate and I think that will solve your problem.
