Hello. I have heard that AOL has frequently tried to collect data about user habits and to let you install programs that will be used for spying purposes. I hope this is not truth. If it is then AOL is developing spyware products which will be a shame. I would like to her your opinion about this rumor (or it is not a rumor). I am concerned AOL user so I hope you will find some time to answer me.
Unfortunately, this is true. I would not call them developers of spyware but they have been making some disputable decisions. Clicking links was captured and use for advertisement selection. For example, if you search a lot for basketball ad click basketball related topics you will find out that after some time most advertisements are basketball related. They also developed software for "parental control" that enables anyone with master password to review your whole internet activity.
