Hi. I bought AMD Athlon XP 1800. Salesman told me that this processor runs on 1.53GHz. When I installed I saw that BIOS recognizes it as a 1.15GHz processor. Windows, also, sees it as a slower processor then it should be. I think that I have been ripped off and bought slower processor then they told me it is. What do you think?

Hello. I do not think that you have been ripped off. Motherboards have feature that drops BUS speed on lower settings when new processor is installed for security reasons. Enter BIOS and change motherboard BUS speed from 100MHz to 133 MHz and you will not have problem with your AMD Athlon XP 1800. It will run on 1.53 GHz.
