I need some help with my MoBo driver update. My MoBo could not properly see my new hard so I downloaded the latest updated drivers. However, when I try to install downloaded file I get an error message and my computer restarts. To be even worse, now my video reports me a missing monitor error and my AGP is stuck in 4x mode.

I do not think that your video card or your monitor are damaged. I think other reasons caused your problem. You obviously have a problem with your MoBo driver update. The simplest one would be an error in the process of downloading. That way your driver file was probably damaged. To check that, you should try to download it once more and than try to reinstall it. You may also have a wrong version of driver for your OS. Your version of drivers could be for some other operating system like Win98 and you probably have WinXP. In that case, you have to find and download the proper version for your OS. Last reason for your problem could be that your driver update may need some service pack or add-ons. If that is the problem, download and install them first. If nothing helps, complete reinstall certainly will.
