| Hello. I am getting into a dilemma because of two different models of the same graphic card. I know that this doesn’t makes sense at all, but one graphic card is 128bit and the other one is 64bit. The word is about GeForce FX 5200 model for my old computer. The price is very similar, and the merchant says, it doesn’t matter at all. Well, which one should I take? I suppose that 64bit graphic card combines well with the 64bit processor. Am I right? |

| No, you are no right at all. Nor the salesman you were talking to. If you are planning to play any game in the future, forget about that. Those graphic cards are made for movie playback and simple interface displaying. You can draw in Photoshop or any other program and make money if you know how to live in the digital world, but if we speak of multimedia entertainment or 3D production and animation, forget about 64bit graphic cards. They are way too slow. No matter which price there is for that model, do not buy 64bit variant. Believe me, you will regret some day. But, if you are working under DOS, or you do some HTML coding, than forget what I typed so far and save few bucks. |
