| Hi everybody! I have a few floppy disks and I was wondering if I could use that information. They are 5.25 inches disks and they are old about 12 years. I have very important data on them. You know, sentimental kinds of stuff. So I want to copy that files but I dont have an appropriate drive. Where can I buy 5.25 floppy drive? In museum maybe? Just kidding, I just need to have this data, and I dont care how much would it cost. |

| Well, this is an interesting one! I would recommend you to search the ebay because you can find all kinds of stuff there. Basically what you need to do is to register there and to search a little bit. There is another solution, and that is to ask for someone to copy it for you. Although, its literally impossible to find someone with 525 drive, but ask why not to give it a shoot. Take care of those disks and dont hope to much because they are very old, and floppy disks are very temperature sensitive. On the other hand, there a so called data recovery companies that take care of that. They are extremely expensive, but you mentioned that money is not a problem for you. Another solution would be to give an ad on the internet and to wait. Somebody will answer you, but he will probably charge you 500 bucks or so. How many disks do you have? You could even place an ad for someone to copy it for you. How come that you didnt copied that stuff long time ago? |
